Aux Trois Portes Hotel, A Lovely Paris Hotel

by Jeremy Stevens

The Aux Trois Portis is located in the center of Paris, and because of its central location most of the Paris monument locations and business addresses can easily be accessed by an intending tourist.

The guest rooms have all the conveniences expected of a five star hotel. Each guest room is fitted with functional amenities like non smoking rooms, the daily newspaper, hair dryer, an ironing board, a safe, television and other amenities for the guests convenience, but there is no internet connection and there is no available parking for those driving cars.

Services offered include round the clock room service, bar/Pub, restaurants, safety deposit box, business center and many more. Pets are allowed on the hotel premises, while the hotel goes to great lengths to ensure that all guests are taken care of to their satisfaction.

Because of its location, which is very close to the historical areas of Bastille and Marais, trains stations and the Seine river it is very easy to enjoy Paris nightlife.

You?ll find that the hotel policies are much like any other hotel with checkout time being 24 hours after you have checked in and the room service is available 24 hours a day.

If for some reason you find that your plans have changed, there is no problem when you cancel your reservation at least 24 hours in advance of the arrival date, otherwise, there is a cancellation fee that will be charged for the room.

The hotel welcomes children. Children who are 4 years old and less are permitted to stay free when they use the existing bedding that is already in the room. Children 2 or younger will be given a child size cot and bedding but it must be requested from and approved by management before it will be permitted in the room. Additional fees are charged when there are other adults and children older than 4 staying in the room.

Additional adults are permitted in the rooms as well, but there is an additional fee incurred, and the same policy applies to children older than 4 years old. Aux Trois Portes is a favorite among its many guests, and the location is advantageous. It is surely one of the better located cheap Paris hotels. There is a need of some minor renovations but the hotel is well-kept. The staff is very courteous and that will keep this hotel in business for a long time onwards.

Belize the Beautiful

by Dave Bouskill

Belize City. Most people picture run down buildings, crime and remnants of hurricane damage. Very few take anytime to actually explore the town instead choosing to hop on a water taxi and head out to Ambergris Caye.

Whatever your vision of Central America is, check it at the door before entering this beautiful and welcoming country. Many travel guides will tell you to “get out of Belize City and head for the islands.” It is too bad really, because they are causing people to miss out on meeting the very proud and helpful citizens of this vibrant town.

Belize City is actually a port on many cruise liners itinerary. However, most passengers either spend their time shopping in the terminal or hop on a tour to explore other parts of the country. Where the cruising crowd doesn’t exactly have the time to explore the area, a traveler should definitely take a walk to get a feel for the Caribbean City.

Belize has an eclectic mix of architecture. In the 16th century it was settled by the English and the buildings reflect that era. There is your typical colonial architecture, you will see churches and modern buildings are starting to crop up. There is a wide variety in Language as well. The official language is English, but if you listen to conversations, people speak with a mix of Creole. They also speak Spanish, Mayan and German.

Now that you have actually explored Belize City and realized that it isn’t the big bad city that you thought it was, you can catch a water taxi with peace of mind. You aren’t running away from anything, you are simply moving on to see the rest of beautiful Belize. From downtown, you can catch a water taxi for $10 to take you out to the Cayes on the Caribbean Sea.

Far less developed and existing quietly with nature, Caye Caulker is a nice alternative to the busy and touristy Ambergris Caye. Motorized vehicles are not allowed on the island and thankfully there aren’t any plans for resort development in its future. Rates are still quite reasonable and you will enjoy relaxing the day away.

Located just 1 mile from the Belize Barrier Reef, it offers some of the best diving and snorkeling in the world. Hire a boat to take you out to Shark Ray Alley and you will swim with the sharks as manta rays brush up against you. A marine preserve for the past 12 years, the coral and marine life is second to none in the world. Dolphin sightings are commonplace and you will be sure to spot barracuda’s, octopus, stingrays, eels and lobsters.

Many divers in the world travel to Belize for one reason only, and that is to dive the famous Blue Hole. Jaques Cousteau introduced it to the world and it is an awesome site. A collapsed cave in the middle of the sea attracts divers that want to go deep. Drop down to 150 feet and dive under overhangs as hammerhead and reef sharks swim in the chummed waters above. This dive is not for new divers.

Diving isn’t for everyone and you may just want to see the sights. Walk down Caye Caulkers main drag and you will find your choice of tour companies waiting to take you out to see the islands. Hire a sail boat to take you around and explore the surrounding area.

Caye Caulker may not be overly developed, but you can still enjoy great food ranging from Seafood, to pasta and barbecue. The nightlife isn’t wild, but you can find a nice bar to enjoy a drink or two, look out over the water while swinging on a hammock or listen to some live music well into the evening.

To name everything that there is to do in Belize would take a book. Explore its jungles by foot, enjoy an inland kayaking trip and explore Central America’s largest Cave system. If you are a history buff visit one of the many Mayan ruins and for animal lovers, you can stop by the jaguar sanctuary. Beach life can even be found on the mainland and Placencia boasts the best beaches in the country.

Belize is not a country that most people think of when they decide to take off to a warm Caribbean destination, but it is growing in popularity every year. Book your trip soon to experience this untouched paradise. It won’t be long until the rest of the world follows and it will never be the same.

All About Ibiza

by Kelly Alton

If you are planning your summer holiday for this year or the next then there are few places that provide such an experience as Ibiza. Whether you are looking for a relaxing holiday on the beach or a more frantic week of clubbing then Ibiza can offer both and a lot more.

If you didn’t know already, Ibiza is an island in the Mediterranean sea and therefore has a very warm a pleasant climate, as well as great beaches. It isn’t quite as hot at peak temperature as Mallorca but it is pretty close, and will nearly always provide you with good weather for your holiday.

If you are going in the winter because of Ibiza location it is also quite mild compared to many places around the world. In the normal winter the average temperature is about 15 degrees Celsius so not too bad at all.

The first thing you should think about when planning any kind of holiday is how much of a budget you have. You don’t want to spend a long time looking at lots of amazing villas in Mallorca only to discover that you can’t afford them. There is a wide range of prices of villas on the island, so do yourself a favour and get your budget sorted early so you can narrow down your options.

The great thing about modern holidays is that you can get some really cheap flights. Budget airlines fly regularly to Ibiza from all over Europe so you can be sure to get a great flight at a good price. This will mean you have more left over for your accommodation.

One you get to Ibiza you need to think about car hire. Usually you can get cars when you arrive at the airport but if you want to get the best prices you should probably book before hand. Also make sure that you get all the relevant documents if you want to travel – check on the internet for these.

If you don’t want to fly to Ibiza then there is also a ferry that goes to Barcelona. It takes about three hours so probably a bit long for a day trip but still might be worth considering. As with any holiday make sure you get all your transport sorted so that you can relax and not have to worry about it. There is nothing worse then having bad transport to get to your holiday destination – it really sets your trip off on completely the wrong foot and may cause arguments!

Have fun on your holiday in Ibiza, and remember that the island has plenty of things to see and is quite small, so don’t be afraid to leave your villa!

How To Pick, Pack and Perfect your Destination Wedding Dress

by Randolph Quan

Could it really be that easy? It’s true – looking your best in your destination wedding dress is as easy as three Ps. Pick, pack and perfect the dress, and you’ll look fabulous in your chosen wedding location.

Picking. Often, a destination wedding dress is going to be more informal than a typical princess wedding dress. This isn’t always the case, though, especially if your “destination wedding” is being planned in your hometown that you live three to four hours away from.

When choosing your dress for a destination wedding, take into account the climate you’re getting married in. A tropical beach wedding calls for a more casual dress in a light-weight material – after all, you don’t want sweat marks on your white dress! Choose a thin fabric such as chiffon, charmuese or organza.

A tropical beach wedding is one of the more appropriate times to choose a sexier wedding dress, too. When the location is exotic and sexy itself, no one can fault a bride for tuning into that vibe and glamming up the sex appeal as well!

For an even more casual look, choose something other than a full-length gown. Not only will you not have to worry about the gown dragging in the sand, it will probably be less expensive. On the other side of things, a destination wedding dress for a cooler climate requires a cover-up if you plan to spend any time outside. A complementary shawl is your best bet.

Packing. This will be the trickiest part of the destination wedding dress debacle, but let’s make one thing clear: Do not under any circumstances check your wedding dress with your baggage on a plane. Too many people lose their luggage each year for you to risk it. Most of the time, you can carry your dress in a garment bag through security and ask a flight attendant to hang it in the first-class coat cabin. Just make sure to count it as one of your allowed carry-on bags. If you can’t be sure it can be hung by an attendant, fold the garment bag into a suitcase that will fit into the overhead cabin. It might be wrinkled when you get there, but at least it will be there.

You can ship a wedding dress, but there are so many risks that it could be lost, damaged or stolen that it’s not really worth it. If you do decide to do this, have the bridal salon package it for you. They’re used to shipping dresses when orders are placed, so they’ll know the proper way to do it. All in all, driving the dress to the destination yourself is the safest bet. Unfortunately, for many destinations, that’s not an option.

Perfecting. The biggest headache to contend with after successfully transporting the dress is getting the wrinkles out. If you’re lucky, you can hang the dress for 24 hours and the wrinkles will fall out. If 24 hours are a luxury you don’t have, pack a travel steamer and/or the name of a local dry cleaner who can give the dress a good pressing. Get a list of dry cleaners internationally at www.ifi.org.

Finally, make sure you have all the appropriate accessories to complement your gorgeous destination wedding dress! For the traditionalists, don’t forget your something blue (or the six-pence in your shoe) and for those looking for something a bit funkier, glam up your gown with a sparkling hairpiece, colorful shoes or bold make-up.
