The Joys of a Vacation to Spain

If only I didn’t have to work, I’d travel the world as often as I possibly could. I want to see every country in the world, though I know that’s not reasonable. Nonetheless, I go as much as I’m able to and I have another trip planned later for this year. Traveling is one of my favorite things in life.

I’ve tried to make it a point to visit as many countries as I can during my life, and I plan on visiting many more. Still, there’s one place that I’ve visited that stands out in my mind more than any other.

My trip to Spain two years ago was the best trip I’ve ever been on, and it’s by far my favorite country of all that I’ve visited so far.

What makes Spain different from the rest of Europe is the way they go about their lives here. Things are very different in Spain, and I mean that in the best of ways.

There are mountains and beaches in Spain, with beaches lining the East and South coast of the country. In the East, you can visit some great cities on the water, like Barcelona and Valencia.

Make it a point to visit the Costa del Sol as well, which is the Southern part of Spain. There are plenty of resort cities with beaches, casinos, nightclubs, restaurants, resort hotels, and more.

Out of all of the places I visited, Madrid held the most special place in my heart. This was a unique blend of a modern city and one with deep rooted traditions that typified everything you’ve ever learned about Spain.

The food was the most authentic that I had in Spain, and I sampled some delicious tapas, sangria, and more. There was some great sightseeing in Madrid as well.

There’s so much more that I loved about the country, and I’ll do my best to write another article as time permits. Visit Spain if you can, you won’t regret it.

Travel Insurance – Make Sure You Get What You Need

To be honest with you, when I am booking my own vacation or making some other travel arrangements I would tend to avoid taking out insurance, particularly the insurance offered to me by the company I am booking my travel with. Am I wise to do this or just being over-cautious and not trusting enough? Here are a few pointers that all travellers would be wise to take note of when considering travel insurance.

Avoid booking your travel insurance when you are booking your tickets or booking a holiday package. It is the case that travel agents or tour agents will offer us insurance when we are booking our flight or whatever, but these are very often not the best deals to be had. It’s best to do this yourself by shopping online and comparing like with like. Its almost certain you will come across a number of deals that will save you money in comparison to your first offer from the travel agent.

No one likes to waste money so its a good idea to check your current insurance policies – your home insurance – to see if you are covered for going on holiday. Take a moment to check and you may be fortunate.

Once you have yourself a short list if you need to get travel insurance, its good policy to make sure there is adequate medical insurance, which should also include the cost of medical evacuation. Depending on where you are going, if you end up needing to be evacuated back to your home country and you have no insurance to cover you, the costs could be prohibitive.

What sort of activities are you going to be doing while on holiday? For example, scuba diving is very rarely covered with a typical holiday insurance cover so its best to take this as an add-on. Golf clubs too are often best taken as an add-on or with a specialist insurance its fine.

Although this is something that many people do not do – its very wise to read the small print. There are many details in the small print that will not have been mentioned as a general rule. Furthermore, get your insurance quotes from a reputable insurance company. If this company is recognized by the national government of the country you are about to visit then all the better!
