There are so many different parts to the city of London that your visiting experience will depend on which part you travel to. Basically, London is comprised of a number of towns all connected to one another. The best of these towns to visit are:

Camden Town – Attracts a huge amount of visitors even though it is not very visually appealing. People like to go there to see its lively market and its large underground music scene. Each weekend, approximately 100,000 visitors go to the market to find objects that they would not otherwise be able to purchase in one shopping trip.

Covent Garden & The Strand – Draw an enormous crowd of people, as this wide street running from Trafalgar Square towards the city is chock full of fascinating shops, theatres and hotels. Covent Garden leads of the Strand and is filled with cafes, bars and street entertainers (magicians, dancers, mime artists, etc.).

Chelsea – Chic boutiques, antiques shops and charming eighteenth and nineteenth century houses combine to make Chelsea one of the most desirable areas in London. The main shopping area is King’s Road which will keep any keen shopper entertained for hours on end. This area is also home to the Premier League football champions – Chelsea FC.

Kensington – The ideal place for shoppers and royal watchers, you will find lots of shops (selling everything from clothing to home-wares to antiques) and the gates of Kensington Palace. In this area, your chances are much greater of seeing a member of the royal party coming or going from Kensington Palace. And, if you do not catch a glimpse of one, you will still undoubtedly get many awesome pictures.

Oxford Circus & Piccadilly Circus – Millions of tourists visit these extremely famous areas every year. Situated in the West End of London, Piccadilly Circus serves as a central hub and common meeting place and is thus very busy and a tad untidy. Oxford circus is the best entry point to Oxford Street, which is London’s main shopping district.

Soho & Leicester Square – Soho is a very lively London town where you are sure to find excellent bars and fabulous eateries. Leicester Square, situated adjacent to Soho, is well known for the UK films that premier there. There are often TV and movie stars hanging around these places so be sure to take your camera and autograph book.
